RJ Anderson
R. J. Anderson was born on July 16, 1986 in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. Anderson joined the University of Minnesota Gophers men’s hockey team in 2005 for his freshman season. The Gophers look for Anderson to be a veteran blueliner. During R.J. Anderson's 2007-2008 junior season, he earned his third letter. R.J. Anderson competed in all 45 games and totaled a career-record 12 points. R.J. Anderson ranked only behind Patrick White with a plus-7 rating. R. J. Anderson played in 32 games his sophomore season, posting six assists. Anderson missed six games due to shoulder injuries. He owned a +2 rating. He was often paired with Gopher David Fischer at defenseman. R. J. Anderson played in 37 Gophers hockey games his freshman year and posted four assists. He became active in a four game stretch, scoring three points. Anderson’s first career point came on a game-winning assist at Wisconsin on January 28. He was the owner of a +10 rating. Anderson got to pair up with Alex Goligoski often. R. J. Anderson played prep hockey at Centennial High School in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. He scored 58 goals and 117 assists in three seasons with the Cougars. His 51 points his senior year made him seventh in the state in scoring among defenseman, helping him become a Minnesota Mr. Hockey finalist and the Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year. R. J. Anderson was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers with the 101st pick in the fourth round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. R. J. Anderson plans on being a communication studies major at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. He enjoys fishing, hunting and golfing.
