Kent Patterson is from Plymouth, Minnesota and attended the prestigious Minneapolis Blake School. After Blake, Kent Patterson moved on to USHL and joined the Cedar Rapids team, a path also followed by fellow teammated Kevin Wehrs.

Kent Patterson's 2007-2008 season with Cedar Rapids was a disappointment. He was injured in training camp, and his season replacement ended up playing so well that Kent Patterson saw little ice time. He seems rested and ready for a change to pursue ice time with the Minnesota Gophers hockey team.

As an incoming University of Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey player, Kent Patterson shows much potential. He is an agressive player with a knack for predicting where the puck will land.
