LEFT GOPHERS HOCKEY TO PLAY FOR THE USHL FARGO NORTH DAKOTA TEAM, THE FARGO FORCE.
"He wants to play," Gophers coach Don Lucia said. "He came in and asked about going to Fargo, so we helped him get there."
Grant Scott is the only University of Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey player who is not originally from Minnesota. Grant Scott is from Sewickley, Pennsylvania and he attended Shady Side Academy. After Shady Side, Grant Scott moved on to USNDT, the same pre-college path followed by fellow University of Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey players Sam Lofquist and Ryan Stoa.
Many people wonder what brough Grant Scott to the University of Minnesota Gophers hockey team when he had great offers from east coast schools. Well, Grant Scott was interested in the Carlson School of Management and was impressed by its reputation since he wants to major in business. Grant Scott was also won over by the University of Minnesota campus, Mariucci Arena, and loyalty of the Gophers hockey fans.
Grant Scott's size and speed will be strong assets for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey team in their 2008-2009 Gophers hockey season.
