Drew Fisher was born on June 2, 1987 in International Falls, Minnesota. He joined the University of Minnesota Gophers hockey team in 2007 for his freshman season. The Gophers hope Fisher can add to a solid skating forward corp.
During Drew Fisher's freshman Gophers hockey season in 2007-08 he participated in 26 games as a reserve forward. At the Dodge Classics tournament, Drew Fisher had a plus-one totalin both games. Drew Fischer was also plus-one in his first NCAA tournament game against Boston College. After his freshman season, Drew Fisher earned his first letter from the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey team.
Drew Fisher played two years with the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL, where his coach was former Gopher Kevin Hartzell. Fisher finished with totals of 43 points on 20 goals in 56 games. He also notched 10 goals and six assists in 55 games in 2005-06
Drew Fisher graduated from Moorhead High School, where he played one season of hockey. He had 45 points on 20 goals in his senior campaign, helping the Spuds to a 25-3-2 record. Drew Fisher played at International Falls High School before transferring to Moorhead.
