St. Paul, Minnesota is home to the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts.  As anyone could guess based on its title, the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts embraces all sorts of live performances.  These may range from cultural stagings to opera or Broadway musicals or orchestra concerts.  The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts facility also houses the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Schubert Club, and the Minnesota Opera.

Ordway Center for the Performing Arts

Although we know the Ordway by its longer title, this new name was not crafted until 2000.  Previous to 2000, the venue had been known as the Ordway Music Theatre.  It was opened in 1985 and hosted musicals and performances.  However, the diverse acts that performed in the building caused committee members to change the name officially to the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts.

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts contains several venues.   The largest is a 1,900 seat Main Hall.  For smaller performances, you may end up at the McKnight Theatre which seats 306.  In addition to these performance venues, the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts has 2 rehearsal halls and lobbies on each floor.
