The Miami Redhawks Hockey team is known as one of the best teams in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and the Miami Redhawks hockey players were the CCHA regular season champs.  In spite of their strong reputation, however, the Miami Redhawks hockey team lost to the Michigan State Wolverines in the championship game.

One of the most exciting recent developments in the Miami Redhawks hockey team history is the recent construction of a state-of-the-art hockey arena to house home games.  The Miami Redhawks hockey team will now play its games in the beautiful Goggin Ice Center, which cost over $34,000,000 to complete.  The Goggin Ice Center can hold roughly 4,000 hockey spectators and is a great asset to the Miami University campus in Oxford, Ohio. 

Miami Redhawks hockey fans wear jerseys in the school colors of red and white and cheer for Swoop, the Miami Redhawks mascot.  Swoop was made the official mascot in 1997 after the former mascot and name (Redskins) was found to be offensive for many Native Americans in the Miami tribe.
